ALERT: It appears that Congress has LOST ITS MIND.
Despite our nation's staggering $14.4 trillion debt, there are WAY too many Members of the U.S. House and Senate who want to raise our nation's debt limit... without making permanent reforms in our fiscal policies.
Oh, and of course, they also want to tax and spend more.
That's called INSANITY: "Doing the same thing over and over, and expecting different results."
IT'S TIME TO TELL CONGRESS: NO MORE! That's why we're joining in with dozens of conservative organizations in supporting the "Cut, Cap, Balance" plan -- for substantial
spending cuts in FY 2012, a statutory spending cap, and Congressional passage of a Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution as the minimum necessary precondition to raising the debt limit.
The ultimate goal, of course, is to get us back to a point where increases in the debt limit are no longer necessary. But that won't happen if Barack Obama, Harry Reid, and their cronies get their way -- which means YOU AND I HAVE TO STOP THEM from raising that debt limit UNLESS AND UNTIL they CAP & CUT SPENDING and vote up a BALANCED BUDGET AMENDMENT!

We have to move QUICKLY. Barack Obama is meeting with Congressional Democrats THIS WEEK about increasing the ALREADY SKY-HIGH debt ceiling... and they're already saying they want to RAISE TAXES to address Obama's $14 TRILLION
budget deficit!
The latest meeting has been called this week between President Obama, Vice President Biden, and Senators Reid, Durbin, Schumer, and Murray. House Democratic leaders already met with Obama "expressing frustration" that they were ONLY focusing on cutting spending, "as opposed to raising taxes as part of the solution."
Oh, and of course... they want to spend more taxpayer money, too.
You and I have been able to STOP their plans so far... but if we don't keep up the pressure, you KNOW the Republican "leaders" on Capitol Hill will GIVE IN and let them have their way again! We CANNOT let that happen!

So, why have the talks focused ONLY on cutting spending so far, instead of seeing GOP "leaders" doing their usual backflips to appease the tax-and-spend Democrats? ONE REASON: Your messages to Congress are WORKING!
Thanks to the efforts of the conservative grassroots -- THAT'S YOU -- GOP leaders in the House and Senate met this past week with Barack Obama, and as the press reported, they told him what YOU are telling him... NO TAX HIKES:
"Obama and Biden [met] with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., and Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky on Monday. McConnell and House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, say no agreement can include tax increases."
In fact, on Monday -- just HOURS before Sen. McConnell was scheduled to meet with President Obama and Vice President Biden at the White House to discuss the debt ceiling -- McConnell renewed his call to "take tax increases off the table in the debt-limit talks between congressional leaders and the Obama administration"! In an online op-ed, he wrote:
"The Democrats' response has been a mystifying call for more stimulus spending and huge tax hikes on American job creators. That's not serious, and it is my hope that the president will take those off the table today so that we can have a serious discussion about our country's economic future."
And what about the current crop of Republicans running for President? Well, we've been able to get Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Texas Rep. Ron Paul, former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, businessman Herman Cain and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum to sign on... Minnesota Rep. Michelle Bachmann is looking at signing on... and we just heard that former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is finally supporting it, too! (Jon Huntsman refuses to sign.)
Do you get it? YOU are making that happen -- but if we don't keep up the pressure, THEY WILL COMPROMISE. So... LET'S KEEP IT UP!

We alerted you last week that the latest word from the bipartisan budget talks headed by Vice President Joe Biden are that the two
sides have tentatively identified more than $2 trillion in spending cuts over the next 10 years.
Well, like we said, that's a start -- but like we also said, Obama's team is DEMANDING that they throw in TAX INCREASES too!
That's not all -- there are also Democrats who are proposing more spending as a "solution" to our debt crisis!
YOU READ THAT RIGHT: Obama and the Democrats think that the solution to our fiscal crisis is to TAX AND SPEND MORE!
This is INSANE -- and if we're going to make sure that doesn't happen, Congress needs to KEEP HEARING the voice of the American people LOUD and STRONG against such insanity!

Thankfully, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) has taken a bold step on this issue: he announced that "he was pulling out of the bipartisan budget talks headed by Vice President Joe Biden for now because the group has reached an impasse over taxes that only
President Barack Obama and Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) could resolve."
Senate Republican Whip John Kyl (R-AZ) also withdrew from the talks, saying that "the White House and Democrats are insisting on job-killing tax hikes and new spending. That proposal won't address our fiscal crisis, our jobs crisis, or protect and reform entitlements."
These budget talks, of course, are focused on raising the $14.3 TRILLION debt ceiling -- AGAIN -- but are also serving to work on cutting the budget.
But to Barack Obama and his cohorts, "cutting the budget" doesn't mean "cutting the budget" -- it means "finding new ways to suck more money out of average American taxpayers."
That's why we need to KEEP REMINDING the members of Congress WHY we put them there: to STOP over-spending and over-taxing, and to CUT the size of government! IF THEY ARE FLOODED WITH MESSAGES reminding them of that fact -- and the fact that we will REMOVE THEM from office if they don't do that -- then we CAN win this fight... But we need YOUR help to do it!

All you hear about in the left-wing mainstream media is talk about "cutting a deal" between the Democrats and Republicans. BUT WE DON'T WANT A DEAL -- we want the people we elected to office to FIGHT FOR WHAT IS RIGHT. And what is RIGHT is to STAND STRONG for Fiscal Responsibility, Limited Government, and Free Markets.
How hard can that be to understand?

P.S. In an interview this week on ABC's "TopLine" program, Tea Party Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) stated:
"We will vote to raise the debt ceiling if we get a balanced-budget amendment," Paul told us. "We want it contingent on a balanced-budget amendment, because what we don't want to do is just give a blank check. We've raised the debt ceiling 74 times, and nothing ever changes in this city -- they're fiscally irresponsible. And we will do it if they're forced to balance a budget like most states in the country are forced to balance a budget."
We CAN force them to cut, cap and balance the budget. We CAN stop Congress from even THINKING about raising taxes. THE ODDS ARE IN OUR FAVOR. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) recently stated on the Senate
floor, "It's mystifying, really, that at the 11th hour some would now propose tax hikes as a condition of any agreement. It's mystifying not only because of the absurdity of proposing a tax hike as a way to help the economy and create jobs. It's mystifying, above all, because we know that a tax hike would never make it through Congress. Not because of Republican opposition -- but because of Republican and Democratic opposition. We've already had the votes to prove it."
But just because the odds are in our favor, doesn't mean that Congress won't raise taxes -- we've learned THAT before! It's only if Americans HIT THEM HARD with tens of thousands of messages, letting them know we WILL NOT TOLERATE such insane behavior any more!
